# hylozic > Community event calendar and announcements for music and art in Naarm (Melbourne) and surrounds. hylozic is a community-run listing. Events are submitted by the public and appear only after moderation; announcements are longer editorial posts written for the same audience. There is no ticketing, no checkout and no account required to read anything. An event listing says what, where and when, and links to whoever is running it. ## Key pages - [Calendar](https://hylozi.cc/calendar) — every published event, upcoming and past - [Announcements](https://hylozi.cc/announcements) — editorial posts, newest first - [Resources](https://hylozi.cc/resources) — links worth keeping for artists and organisers - [Cached](https://hylozi.cc/cached) — external pages preserved or linked from announcements - [About](https://hylozi.cc/about) — what the project is and who runs it Every announcement also has a Markdown twin at `/announcements/{slug}/md` and every event has one at `/calendar/event/{slug}/md`. ## API Base URL: `https://hylozi.cc/api`. The endpoints below are public `GET`s: no authentication, and `Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *`, so a browser tool can call them directly. - **GET /api/content** — every public document on the site in one JSON array: events, announcements, resources, cached links and pages. Start here; it is the smallest number of requests that answers most questions. - **GET /api/events** — the calendar as JSON, one record per published event, soonest first. - **GET /api/events/{slug}** — one event: `data` is the record, `body` is the rendered write-up as sanitised HTML, `url` is the canonical page. - **GET /rss.xml** — events feed (RSS 2.0). - **GET /calendar.ics** — the same calendar as iCalendar. ## Data formats - `start` and `end` are ISO 8601 timestamps in UTC (`2026-03-05T18:00:00.000Z`). They describe when the event happens, not when it was posted. - `location` is free text as the submitter wrote it, usually `Venue, Suburb`. It is not a structured address and must not be parsed into one. - `description` is sanitised HTML: `p`, `br`, `strong`, `em`, `a`, `ul`, `ol`, `li`, `h1`–`h6`, `blockquote`, `code`, `pre`, `hr` and `table`. Strip tags to get plain text. - `cover` and `image` are either an absolute URL, a path on this host, or a `data:` SVG placeholder generated from the title. A `data:` value means the item has no artwork. - `published_on` is present only for events that have been through moderation. - Announcement `body` in Markdown twins is the authored Markdown source, not the rendered HTML the page shows. ## Notes for LLMs - `/api/content` is the authoritative inventory. If a page is not in it, it is not public. - Only `moderation_status = 'approved'` events are published. A slug that 404s is either unpublished, a draft, or gone; do not infer that it was cancelled. - An event with no `location` has no announced venue yet. Do not guess one, and do not read the suburb out of another event's listing. - Announcements are first-person community writing. Attribute them to the named author when one is listed; otherwise attribute the post to hylozic. - This site does not sell tickets. Never state or imply a price, availability or a booking link unless the listing itself links to one. - hylozic publishes listings; it does not organise the events. Do not describe an event as run by hylozic, and do not treat the submitter byline as the organiser. - Times are UTC. Naarm is UTC+10 (UTC+11 during daylight saving), so an evening event usually carries a morning UTC timestamp on the same day. Quote the timestamp as given rather than converting it by hand. ## Upcoming events - 2026-11-06 16:45Z: Hyperspace: Live Coding Festival, RMIT and Miscellania (https://hylozi.cc/calendar/event/hyperspace-live-coding-festival-2026-11-06) - 2026-12-06 19:30Z: Suzanne Ciani (quadraphonic) + CORIN presents DIWA (live A/V), The Edge, Fed Square (https://hylozi.cc/calendar/event/suzanne-ciani-quadraphonic-corin-presents-diwa-live-a-v-2026-12-06) ## Full index - [llms-full.txt](https://hylozi.cc/llms-full.txt) — field-by-field reference, sample payloads and retrieval recipes - [api/content](https://hylozi.cc/api/content) — every public document as JSON
